About Maya Shorr Katz​

Maya is an Israeli-born American artist currently working in Greater Boston. She has a BFA from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Studio Arts at S.A.C.I. (Studio Art Center International) Florence, Italy and completed her Masters in Art Education from the Rhode Island School of Design.

 

She is currently concentrating on painting with the watercolor medium. Maya enjoys the luminosity and delicacy of watercolors. She loves using predictable techniques while at the same time giving in to the lack of control as the watercolor takes over, following its own path.

 

Maya's painting "Coming Together" was recently accepted at the New England Watercolor Society Juried Exhibit in Newport, RI in 2017 and received 2nd place at the Weston Council on Aging Exhibit.

 

Her most recent projects include custom orders for pet portraits.

 

Maya has three sons and lives in the Boston area with her husband, Ron.
